Gina Sánchez Gibau
Gina Sánchez Gibau is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Diversity and Inclusion and co-Director of the IUPUI Next Generation 2.0 program. She is also Associate Professor of Anthropology in the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. Her research interests include racial and ethnic identity development among the African diaspora, multicultural pedagogy, and professional development and advancement of underrepresented groups in higher education. During the 2013-14 academic year, she along with her colleague Karen Bravo, Vice Dean in the IU McKinney School of Law, successfully proposed the Next Gen 2.0 program to campus administration, as an expansion of the previous Next Generation@IUPUI program. In her current role, she is responsible for providing strategic vision to academic units in support of their efforts to attract, recruit, retain, and advance a more diverse faculty at IUPUI. She is a 2013 alumna of the Higher Education Resources Services (HERS) Bryn Mawr Leadership Institute. In 2015, she received an IUPUI Outstanding Women Faculty Leadership Award and in 2017, she participated in the IU Executive Leadership Institute.
Kathleen S. Grove
Kathleen Grove is the Director of the Office for Women at IUPUI and the co-Director of the IUPUI Next Generation 2.0 program. She has been consulting, advising, counseling and training in a professional capacity throughout a career that has encompassed the fields of law, business, mental health counseling, and higher education. In her role as the Director of the Office for Women, her mission is to help build and support an equitable and inclusive campus environment where all can succeed. In particular, she encourages the university to recognize, support, advance and retain women’s talent. Through her leadership, the office has initiated mentoring programs for research faculty and for women students, established the annual Women’s Leadership Awards, created an online archive of IUPUI women’s achievements, and offered programs on negotiation, financial health, and career strategies. She has helped establish and administer the Next Generation 2.0 program since its inaugural 2015 cohort. She has been active in the International Leadership Association and its Women and Leadership Affinity group and teaches a seminar, “Advancing Women in Leadership” for the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program in the IU School of Liberal Arts.
