Department Enhancement Grant

Overview

The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) Department Enhancement Grant (DEG) provides an opportunity to facilitate department transformation processes and practices to reduce inequities and improve department climate for faculty -- particularly women and faculty from minoritized backgrounds. It provides faculty members with the opportunity to examine key factors impeding their ability to create an inclusive and equitable culture. The projects are eligible for an award up to $10,000 each.

The OAA Department Enhancement Grant is a continuation of the work that began through Project EPIC, an NSF-funded ADVANCE grant project (Grant No. 1936096). Department Enhancement Grants funded under Project EPIC can be found on this page.

Call for Proposals

The 2023 Call for Proposals is posted here.

Project teams should be at least three tenured or tenure-track faculty members from the same department, with the department chair or program director serving as principal investigator.
