Dear Student,
Safety. Well-being. Good health. A great education.
These are the driving forces for us at IUPUI as one of the most exciting days of the year—our first day of classes—nears.
Whether you are going to be studying on campus or online this fall, you are bringing energy, intelligence, engagement, and commitment. We can’t wait to see you—in person or virtually.
With that in mind, we want to let you know that you can now check out the fall schedule with updated course formats.

As we move toward the fall, we are continuing to make changes to the schedule and encourage you to seek guidance from your schools and work closely with your academic advisors to create a schedule that gives you peace of mind and helps you advance toward graduation. For some of you, that may mean taking all of your classes online, and we will work with you to make that happen. For others who want an on-campus experience, we will be ready to welcome you.
Our top priority as we continue to plan for the fall is the health and safety of our campus community. Hundreds of faculty and staff are working to make sure that your classes offer great learning experiences with a mix of in-person and remote instruction. We want to ensure that you have opportunities to stay engaged and connected even as we think in new and creative ways about making the most of virtual spaces and reimagining on-campus spaces to promote safety for everyone on campus.
A successful fall semester is going to take commitment from everybody. Our commitment to you:
- We will draw on local, state, and national experts to promote health and safety across campus
- We will work together to take care of the campus community by wearing masks, observing safe physical distancing, washing hands, and following other guidelines
- We will bring creativity and innovation in and out of the classroom so that your experience at IUPUI will surpass your expectations
This fall semester opens up wonderful opportunities for student life on and off campus. Student leaders are already developing plans to make sure that our great campus traditions like Regatta grow and evolve in response to our new reality. You are going to be part of reinforcing these tried-and-true Jaguar traditions and building wonderful new ones.
Let’s work together to take care of each other and strive for success.
Sincerely,
Kathy E. Johnson, Ph.D.
