The Office of Academic Affairs at IUPUI provides a comprehensive and coordinated approach to career development for faculty across the academic spectrum. Opportunities for training, education, career development, and academic advancement are coordinated through OAA in a series of workshops, as well as through online resources.
Events for new and junior faculty, department chairs, and associate deans help with the development of talented and diverse faculty in their transition to IUPUI. Workshops include sessions on leadership, higher education, legal and ethical issues, fiscal stewardship, personnel development, and other topics pertinent to junior faculty and leaders alike.
LEADERSHIP@IUPUI
IUPUI takes leadership development seriously. We know that training our faculty and staff for leadership positions now, and providing guidance to future leadership applicants, will enable IUPUI to grow to be an employer of choice in the city, state, and beyond. Leadership development addresses strategic plan priorities Goal 9 (Promote an Inclusive Campus Climate) and Goal 10 (Develop Faculty and Staff).

IUPUI NEXT GENERATION 2.0 LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE
IUPUI Next Generation 2.0 is a program designed to provide individuals with the opportunity to acquire additional leadership skills and professional development in preparation for career advancement at IUPUI and in higher education. The program expands upon the success of a previous program on campus in 2009, Next Generation @IUPUI, by targeting women and underrepresented minority faculty and staff who are poised to pursue the next level of their career or who wish to hone their skills to better lead from their current positions. It directly addresses our Strategic plan goals to "develop our faculty and staff" and to "promote an inclusive campus climate." Participants will engage with a ten-month curriculum focused on a variety of topics designed to enhance their leadership potential and professional acumen.
