Spring 2022 Proposals

  • The drafts below have been approved by the Ad Hoc Committee to Revise P&T Guidelines. They will be presented as proposals to the IFC during Spring 2022.

  • Broaden the scope and definition of “service” as an area of excellence or as part of a balanced case, beyond just client-services to administrative and other work.
  • Slightly adjust the requirements for a balanced-binned case to continue to require “highly satisfactory” in each area, but in the “service” area NOT to define that solely as 'peer reviewed dissemination'.
  • Create a new balanced-integrative case (generic; of which the DEI case would be one potential path).
  • Allow a broad range of scholarship for clinical and lecturer cases (beyond scholarship of teaching and learning).
  • Allow professional peer review for appropriate items (beyond 'academic peer review').
  • Editorially, add more guidance about documenting quality and impact (across a range of items/endeavors).

None of the changes take away any options that are now available.

Some of these are interpretations are already used in some schools.

Most are interpretations that IU Bloomington already uses and/or are common in other universities.
