IUPUI Promotion & Tenure Guidelines

The Guidelines for Preparing and Reviewing Promotion and Tenure Dossiers are revised annually, based on revisions approved by the IUPUI Faculty Council and feedback received during each year's promotion and tenure cycle. 

For 2022-2023, the overall Guidelines document has been split into two documents: the main one with values, criteria, documentation, and administrative rules, and a supplement with charts, CV formatting rules, and templates for external letters.

Special note: the phase-in period for senior lecturers applying for teaching professors to count all of their work as in-rank, referred to in a footnote on page 28 of the Guidelines, has been extended to 2023-2024. See this IFC Circular.
