Dossier Content: Combined Materials
For binned cases you can place materials into each individual folder in e-dossier, OR, create one pdf for EACH of the two (clinical, lecturer, research) or three (tenure track, librarian) areas.
For balanced-integrative cases, you create a SINGLE pdf for ALL regular dossier materials. Regular dossier folders are not set up for balanced-integrative cases.
Step one: use the appropriate template on this page: look under:
- Binned Cases--Combined Contents Templates
- Integrative Cases--Dossier Organization and Template
Paste your materials into the appropriate sections.
Delete the instructions at the beginning.
Keep the explanation that the document is (will be) "bookmarked" for pdf readers.
Keep the Large, Bold type headers. You will need those for the next step.
Save as pdf.
Step two: Open the pdf in Acrobat. Open the Bookmarks panel (on a Mac, use View, Show/Hide, Navigation Panes, Bookmarks, or search for "Bookmarks" in the Help area.).
For each major section, highlight the desired heading, then select the "add bookmark" icon in the Bookmarks panel. Adobe instruction page.
At the least, bookmark the large bold headings--these are the criteria for the integrative case, or the folders for the binned types of cases. You can also add subheadings.
Save.
Do not create a pdf "portfolio." These are not accessible to some reviewers.
