Volunteer Faculty
Volunteer appointments are given to individuals not employed by the university who still provide academic support to departments, schools and students. The types of contributions these appointees make to the academic mission of the campus are varied, and may include overseeing student interns, volunteering in clinics, providing non-academic settings for student experiences, giving occasional lectures, or participating in special projects.
Appointments for these individuals must be documented just as those for paid faculty. The Office of Faculty Appointments and Advancement maintains personnel files on these individuals, who are required to complete the Personal History Form and supply a current cv.
