Making Connections

Sources of information about ePortfolio

This web site provides background information about ePortfolios in general and IUPUI's ePortfolio in particular, including links to credible resources within and beyond IUPUI on such related topics as curriculum mapping, rubrics, and reflection. Staff who work with ePortfolio will also organize custom presentations for committee or department meetings.

Sources of support for using ePortfolio

Faculty preparing to use ePortfolio can find one-on-one support at the IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning. CTL instructional designers and technology consultants are available to assist ePort users with their pedagogical needs and with learning to use the ePort tools. They will work with ePort users to build a matrix or presentation template, design student orientation materials for the tool, develop instructional activities for using a portfolio, construct rubrics for assessment, or troubleshoot problems.

The ePort team has developed a simple “Getting Started” document to help you organize your thoughts before your first consultation. (Download this document in PDF format.)

Online help when working in ePortfolio or Oncourse is a click away--just search the UITS Knowledge Base for the function in question. You will also find a variety of user guides to assist students, mentors, and assistants in using ePort and Presentation Maker.

Experienced colleagues

In addition to members of the ePortfolio Executive Committee, a growing community of ePort users on campus can provide advice to faculty and staff interested in learning more. Most current and former Principal Investigators of Integrative Department Grants are able to share their experience. Several have contributed on-campus presentations in venues such as the E.C. Moore Symposium or special CTL workshops as well as external presentations at conferences around the world. In addition, an Oncourse project site called ePort User Group provides a forum for exchanges and a growing resource base. See Contact Us for more information.
