IUPUI Office of Academic Affairs - Diversity Statement
The Office of Academic Affairs fosters diversity in policies and practices and supports a climate of inclusion for all members of the university community. Toward that end, we are committed to the following:
(1) Attracting, retaining and supporting diverse students, faculty and staff;
(2) Aggressive, planned recruiting of out-of-state and international students in order to increase academic diversity and to expose Indiana students to a global perspective;
(3) Incorporating multiculturalism, pluralism, equity and diversity into the curriculum;
(4) Advancing and supporting cultural competence, civic responsibility and civility among all members of the IUPUI community;
(5) Ensuring a welcoming environment for all students, faculty and staff through the use of images, messages and symbols which are inclusive;
(6) Promoting and communicating the values and ideals of diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion as broadly as possible;
(7) Partnering with diverse community entities to ensure broad experiential learning for our students and to
maximize the impact of IUPUI in our community.
